I recently lost my father who loved hunting, dogs, and good weapons. Thirty years ago he bought a Belgian double-barrel shotgun which he rarely used and hid it and said that this gun is very rare and he was proud of it. I also started to wonder about it but I could not find a brand and year of manufacture. Several gunsmiths, I went to, did not know to tell me anything. I thought the brand is E.L.G. but seeing your site, i realized that i was completely wrong !!

All I am sure of is that it is made in Belgium. So I kept looking until I found you, and apparently, you are the only hope to be able to identify the brand of the weapon and the year of manufacture. Please help me and thank you in advance !!

See https://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewto ... 5&t=232252

and post full size high resolution images of every mark on the barrel flats and action flats.
Is there no name on the rib or side of the frame?

Welcome to SGW ! ! {hs#

As Drew alluded to, we are not clairvoyant, and need a full description of your "Belgian" shotgun - and, in most cases, close/clear pics are a great help.

Thank you very much for your interest and you are absolutely right, I sent photos to the email of (https://sites.google.com/a/damascusknow ... m/www/home), [email protected].

I believe these photos will help you to find a solution to my problem.

No there isn't any name on the rib or side of the frame and that is very strange.

The lettre annale is 1962

'JF' is likely Janssen Frères S.A. but I was not aware they were active after 1954.

Cornell Pubs has a 1948 catalog reprint and the model might be listed

This mark is interesting and I do not recognize it. It may be that of the dealer? Ignore the Perron.

You are truly unique with amazing knowledge, and only you have helped me immensely!!

I ordered the list you sent me and I firmly believe that your opinion is complete.

The first question that still exists is that after the Company stopped its operation in 1948 when was the shotgun made ??

The second question I should ask you is if this list does not have this shotgun what else can be done ?? how can a common gunsmith in my country be convinced that this is his brand?

Where its brand should be written in the Double-barrelled shotgun? must be written parallel to the barrel below the same point that says made in Belgium ?? Can you send me a similar photo that you think is the right and authentic one ??

You can appreciate its value now ?? how much do you cost this shotgun in US ???

The lettre annale shows that the gun was proved in 1962

The gentleman who operates this site will provide (for a fee) a written opinion as to the Belgian maker: [email protected]

A gun sleuth discovered the same mark, on another 1962 lettre annale gun

I have two small problems and I have to ask you about it:
I can not understand what you write about the year of construction (lettre annale) and which symbol is what characterizes the date of construction and why ?? So that I can explain it and certify it to the authorities of my country

I have a problem with Cornell Publications LLC, they do not send to my country the list you have suggested to me and so does eBay, unfortunately, the European Union is only for the Germans to sell and rule ...... can another solution be found ??

Show the authorities this, and a picture of the underlined lower case 'a' on the R barrel flats; which is the lettre annale for 1962

As usually impeccable and effective !! You are many light years ahead of some experts here ....

I have also sent an email as you told me about the opinion - confirmation of the gentleman who operates this site, and I am waiting for a response.

I hope everything goes well. All this, however, is done to keep the legacy of my father, who kept it with faith and devotion to his beliefs, without knowing ....

That's are some of our legacy thousands of years ago, but now ??

The valuable contribution of the Greek language to the European languages.
The best and most reliable proof of the indisputable fact of this contribution to the European counterparts is nothing
more than the very facts and figures that testify to the “phenomenon”. The book by Aristedes Konstantinidis “
Greek words within British English” is very informative and enlightening. Aristedes Konstantinidis presents in his
book some astonishing figures. He states that out of 166.724 words include in the British dictionary, a total amount
of 41.214 words are of Greek origin and derivation. Even more astonishing, of course, is the amount of the

vocabulary related to medical and scientific terms; out of the 43.716 words included in the dictionary, 2o.346 are
actually of Greek origin and “root”. In effect, out of 178.903 British words, an amazing total of 51.807 ( i.e. 29.24%)
is actually derived from the Greek language.
Another renowned American linguist, Mrs. McDonald, states that the total amount of Greek words integrated into
The British vocabulary is nearly 600.000 words, that is 3,4 times more than the English ones and 4,3 than the French.

And, for the record, figures never “lie”.......

I'm curious where you are from and what you have to go through to certify a gun to authorities in your nation? Do you have to prove a gun's origins and register it in order to legally own it?

Thanks
