My neighbor recently gave me a 12 gauge H&R "folder" that is in decent shape. I am trying to get some idea of it's age. The serial number is BF 1093. Any help would be appreciated

Crisco, thanks for your help. I found out more than I certainly knew before. I did see where the serial number has the letter "F" in it which indicates that it is a folder. I now wonder if the letter "B" in the serial number has any significance. Again, thanks for taking the time to research and reply.
