Hello All, was hoping to get some help in identifying an old double barrel 12 gauge shotgun. I am guessing it is a Stevens, Savage, or Springfield from the 1920 - 1940s, but cannot figure out the exact model.

The unique thing about it is its Stock Bolt, it does not screw out like most long guns, only a Nut on the end unscrews, the bolt/stem stays connected to the receiver (but can be removed by hand once the stock is off).

There is no company markings on the receiver and the butt plate was replaced with a rubber pachymeyer. From the pin pattern on the receiver, it looks/matches a Springfield Model 311, but unsure if other models matched it too.

Also, the firing pins have a coil spring over them.

No, the J. Stevens on that action was the No. 330. If it has checkered wood it is a Springfield No. 315 if it has plain wood it is a Springfield No. 311. With no name on it it was probably made for the trade. In that it has the chamber length marked on the barrel it is from about 1938 to WW-II.
