As a follow-up to my original post, 2 1/2" British English shotguns, I'm wondering what the market price range is for something like this Jeffery Boxlock? These generally seem to be 'trade' shotguns so, I'm wondering if they are super expensive like the Double Rifles and Bolt actions or if they are more 'everyday' priced and viable for actual shooters and just collectors.

They seem to relatively light and trim so, I'm thinking they are a good match for 20~30yd shots on light birds or bunnies and in general, a hoot to shoot.

Sid, W.J. Jeffrey is a greatly respected maker, though much of their reputation comes from the rifle world. Like most English makers they produced anything their customers desired, from the most basic keepers’ guns to best quality sidelocks. This particular example would appear to be a mid-grade boxlock. Placing a value on this one would be tough without knowing more - tight and on face, bore diameter now versus bore diameter as proofed/reproofed, actual measured chamber length, barrel length, stock length and terminus (pad, checkered butt, wooden extension), wood and metal condition. So much to know with British guns.

Your location says East Texas. You do have two very good dealers in English guns in Texas - Willoughby McCabe in Dallas and Collector’s Firearms in Houston (as well as Briley’s who have a limited but well-sorted selection). All are capable of answering any of the above questions about anything in their selections.
