How do I remove the ribbed barrel on my Browning Twelvette ? I watched a video on you tube and the guy just released the forearm latch and punched out the pin and the barrel came off easy. I did the same on mine and it will not come off. Help! thanks

Is it an old gun that maybe hasn't been apart? Maybe it's seized. Is there any play in it? Maybe tap it with a rubber mallet.

Malvin, you don't have to take off the wood to remove the barrel. When you are lowering the forend, make sure to get two clicks. My guess is that you are not getting the rear of the forend low enough for the barrel to release.

This thread still wins.
Saved my bacon on a newly acquired ‘A’ version. 1954 era I think.
Thank you.

I just acquired my first BDA (Twelvette).
The problem I am having with it is that the forearm is very hard/difficult to open with or without a barrel attached. I had looked at a couple of other BDA before and they required very little pressure to open the forearm.
Will turning the regulating cap cap clockwise remedy this? Or is there something else I need to do?
Thanks for any advice.

cbuster, I would check to see the the wood of the forearm it making contact with the receiver. Yes, with the action pointed forward a clockwise rotation should lengthen the spring moving the forearm spring forward. Try it one rotation at a time. Doug

Does anyone know where I can find a new Outer Action Spring for Double Auto/Twelvette? I have searched the internet to no avail. Also, if you cannot get them anymore, has anyone come up with an alternative replacement from another shotgun with/without modification.
Thanks
