I want to make sure I am applying grease in the correct places on my Cynergy. Anyone have a photo of the exact application points where the O/U breaks open?

Thanks!

Check page 14 of the manual. If you don’t have a hard copy, a PDF is available online.

Everywhere there is potential for metal to metal contact.

+1 And make sure these places are clean first.

Got it. Not sure how I overlooked the pic on page 14. Thanks for pointing that out.

I have a Cynergy too and I think they require more lubrication than other O/U's because of the receiver design. There is a lot of metal-on-metal contact inside the block. I lightly grease most of the inside with Abu-Garcia reel grease. It's a very clean, white grease that stands up to cold and heat. I also make sure to amply grease the "curved" locking joints of barrel to receiver, where there is a great deal of contact.

Also, there is a LOT of pressure on the ejectors because of the tension spring set up. I make sure these are well oiled too.

Do you oil the ejectors or use grease?

Oil on the ejector springs & guides after disassembly and a bit where they rub the barrels as they operate. I take them out very infrequently but I probably should take them out more often.

I don't remove ejectors. I use a light oil on side bars and posts of ejector faces. I move them back and forth to distribute oil and wipe off any access. I also spread some Abu-Garcia grease lightly over the surface of the bars with my finger. I keep about all of the entire locking mechanism lightly greased, with more grease on the curves.
