Two years ago I picked up a Cynergy CX at Bass Pro for $1500. Is the CXS going to drop in price any time soon? Specifically I want a 20 gauge with 30” or 32” barrels.

Thanks!

Doubtful, they are already about the cheapest upper-entry/lower-mid range o/u.

They might to a tax-time rebate in a month or two (as they have the past couple years), but they will not be announced until much closer to the middle of April.

Glad to have gotten a 30" 20ga while they were cheaper. Would have no beef with paying full rate for it now. The gun is absolutely worth it.

Was the original price less than $1975?

They’ve been as cheap as $1700 that I’ve seen.

Didn't they run a special on the Cynergy models to try to gin up some interest in them? I wouldn't think you can make any assumptions about CXS prices based on what Browning did with the Cynergy. The CXS appears to be a pretty good seller and, I think, generally regarded as a good value at its current price.

I got my CXS 20 gauge 30" for around $1500 (with a Browning $100 rebate) in Fall 2018. Great gun and a lot of fun to shoot.

Got that rebate as well. $1600 net for me.

I think Browning looks at the cxs as a basic gun. I look at it as a browning citori that doesn’t suffer from cheesy engraving and useless porting. It’s really the best Citori they could make short of a nicer wood package.

Agree. The wood on mine isn't too bad, but I'm not a big fan of the finish. If it was easy to strip off, I would refinish the stock.

I do think of getting another 20 gauge o/u But realize that while there are prettier, better finished guns, I know the cxs fits me and breaks clays.

The CX line of Brownings almost certainly represents the best value/dollar in the o/u market presently.

It's more likely the price will increase.

If your still looking, check out Reeds Sportshttps://www.reedssports.com/firearms/shotguns/browning-citori-cxs-20ga-32-3in-018073602-023614443049
Brick and mortar store and a lot on Gubroker. https://www.gunbroker.com/All/search?Keywords=Cxs%2020&Sort=4&PageSize=24

The website shows price of $1,999, but there’s a coupon code right there takes off $300 makes it $1,699, use the 8% Browning rebate and your at $1,563. Free shipping and no credit card fees.
I’ve been following this cxs 20 and the 725 20 ga for a couple years, finally right for me financially and caught the Cxs 20 price at $1,599 from Reeds about a month ago. Actually put it on layaway knowing this rebate was coming up, and knowing that price wasn’t going to last. Will pay it off next week or so make sure to take advantage of the rebate.

Reeds does a great job on Gunbroker with pics of actual firearm, picked out the one I wanted, called the store 800 number, asked for internet firearm sales, spoke with gentleman named Griff, explained the website pricing was less than Gunbroker, have one picked out would like to purchase (put on layaway). He said no problem, gave him the auction # so would get the one I wanted, he looked it up while on the phone, gave name, address, credit card#, emailed receipt right away. Five minutes on the phone, easy peasy.....free shipping no other fees!
My first dealings with them, a very good experience so far.

Good luck with your search, if you buy, post up some pics!

I bought my browning cxs 20 gauge from Reeds a couple of years ago (best price by far). I'll second that they are a great company to deal with.

Another dealer on GB that sells a lot of Browning's is Able's , look for their "take a shot" listings and try making a fair offer, worked for me to purchase a 725 sporting and saved a couple hundred bucks.

Make sure you apply for the $100 Summer 2020 Browning Citori rebate going on now.
I just bought a CXT and applied for it.
