Hey guys looking for some advice. I was cleaning guns tonight with my boys and I accidentally dropped the forend on my xs skeet and broke off 3 pieces.
Realistically what are my options ? Send back to factory for a close match to the stock or will I need to buy a set if even available. Thanks in advance

Do you have all the pieces? Were they clean breaks? If yes, any competent stock man can repair it and you'll likely not be able to find the crack. Duane Carpenter, who posts on this site, has been complemented many times for just such a repair.

Duane, er, I mean, Doug Carpenter repaired a crack in the forend of my Ithaca-SKB 600 and did a very good job for a very reasonable price. He even glass bedded the forend iron to prevent additional cracking. The repair has held up well and is barely visible.

You're lucky! Doug has also refinished a couple of stocks for me and installed a recoil pad. He does really nice work, and also builds custom stocks.

Ok as it stands I’m a little disappointed in Midwest gun works. The path I chose to get me buy was to order 5 different satin forends with the hopes of finding one close. During the order the sales rep even though he knows exactly what I am trying to do will have to charge me 4 separate re stocking fees.
Is that crazy or am I just that far out of touch with things?

Send them pics or the broken forend and let them match something up.

That's a good idea, if he can take a picture that accurately displays the color of the forend or comes close. I've found that ambient lighting conditions can alter the wood color in a photograph, as will a flash. Sometimes the color you see in a pic is different from when the gun is in hand.

I asked them this very question when I was on the phone and was told they do not have time for that kind of stuff. Guess going the extra mile isn’t a thing anymore for them or maybe caught them on a bad day.

I would not expect a company to ship 5 forends and let a customer sort through them. Yes, that would be nice but....
