I am going to look at 3 Superposed guns tomorrow.
2 of the 3 are from the salt wood era, 1967 and 1970.
They have agreed to take the stocks off and let me inspect for salt damage.
I don't think they really knew about salt wood when I asked about taking the stocks off.
My question is, if there is no evidence of rust at all, would you take a chance on either gun ?
I know the wood can be tested, but I won't be able to do that tomorrow and it's a 4 hour drive for me to look at them.
The guns are priced at what I would consider on the higher side considering salt era, in the pictures they appear to be in very good 95% + condition.
