Has anybody else noticed the checkering on the 2021 (yz131) citori 725 seems different then the previous years?

It seems like they switched to laser engraving from hand engraving.

Checkering refers to the walnut, engraving refers to metal. Neither are done by hand on any standard grade 725 Citori.

I was referring to the walnut, not the engraving of the metal.

Not sure why I thought that the Citori 725 line (the field model in specific) had the butt stock and forend hand checkered. Either way, the 2021 feel different then the 2020 models.

the 2020's diamond cuts seem softer and finished over with a coating, while the 2021 are very sharp and look more "raw"

I'll take some pics tonight.

Here are the pictures of the 2020 citori 725 20 gauge and 2021.

there's a significant difference.

That could be just an adjustment to the machine that does the work. Maybe?

One, presumably the 2021, appears to have been cut with coarser lines. In any case, you can rest assured that the 2020 was not checkered by hand.
