My 1946 Model 11 (20 ga.) makes a "braaaang" sound when being fired. Is this evidence that the buffer has failed? I never use heavy loads.
Sure hate to open it up. Never been opened in 74 years.

Why would you not open it up because it has not been done in 74 years? Are you sure. Fix the gun.

Mine was bought new by my grandfather in 1934. I took it apart and cleaned it a few years ago and I’m glad I did. Dried grease and dirt were everywhere.

You can buy a correct set of screwdriver heads from Brownells. That’s what I did
