What I actually said was, "Remington has teased a bit about the “Versa Max II” and potentially more V3 models, but nothing has formally been announced as of yet."

They should be upgrading the versamax with compensation valves and the same trigger as the v3 as well as the carrier so your thumb doesn’t get caught. Then it would be an ideal 3.5” shotgun.

Well in the Versamax post you had mentioned that heavy loads can send the bolt into the back of the receiver so I would think the compensation valves would help with that. You also know that the trigger is better on the V3 so that’s a no brainer

Sure, I completely agree about the trigger.

Not heavy leads, only really heavy 2-3/4 inch loads that of course do not allow the VersaPort system to work. All Versa-Max models have vented gas blocks, so compensating valves is an unneeded expense and complication.

Forgive my ignorance Randy, where is the compensation gas block? Does that make it so they have a two and three-quarter inch magnums don’t hit the back of the receiver?
I’m only asking because I had one and sold it after getting the V3. From what I remember they were the pistons and the plugs at the end that kept them in

The vented gas block is the gas block used in the Versa Max, the somewhat maligned vented gas black that has been done away with in the V3.

I don't use 1-1/2 oz. 2-3/4 inch loads in anything, so others will have to comment on that.
