Hey guys, I've got an issue with a new to me 870 LW 20ga. When you close the action the shell binds and does not centre in the chamber. It looks to me like the pump rail on the left side slides out from under the rail it travels on.

Anybody had this happen and maybe found a fix?

Also bought two stocks online for an 1100 12 ga. that both turned out to be 13.5" long. They haven't been cut. Any idea what they originally fit? I never thought to ask I assumed they were all 14.5" long.

Thanks

Without seeing it I can't say what's going on with the 870, but they do not have any common problems.
Up until the Sporting models, the LOP for 1100s was 14". That is measured from the trigger to the buttplate. Sounds like both of yours are original.

A lot of the 3” magnum 1100’s had stocks with LOP in that range. IMO, the factory probably figured you were going to be wearing more clothes than normal during waterfowl hunting.

Until the introduction of the 11-87 Sporting Model in 1995, all 1100s and 11-87s except Trap or youth models had stock dimensions of 14" LOP, 1-1/2" DAC, and 2-1/2" DAH.
They played around with the DAC and DAH stock dimensions of the 870 Wingmaster non-trap models a bit thru the years, but the LOP stayed at 14" until the 2000s.
