You won't have much luck getting a value here without a picture. An e-mail to Remington with a serial number will get you build date if you are unable to find a date code on the barrel.

At the very top of this and every forum on SGW is an excellent tutorial by Curly detailing how to post pictures using IMGUR, I am a tech challenged old geezer in my 70's and I figured it out, give it a try.

The 1100LW 20 was produced from 1970 until 1977, when the LT was introduced. Supposedly some LWs had experienced problems with the receivers, hence the changes. I have never personally seen an LW with an issue. Did Remington confirm any engraving on your gun from the factory ? They list no upgraded models with engraving in 1971 other than an F grade, which would be worth considerable coin.

Remington was little to no help. I will try and post pics. This appears to be Factory The little research I have found is Remington offered a few different grade engravings . BUT I m not sure. That's Why I am asking the professionals .

Be advised that also in this timeframe there were still a lot of guns sold to military personnel overseas that came back home with inexpensive engraving.

Wow, very interesting combination of standard factory roll marking and additional engraving. Pretty well done compared to a lot of them. Nice wood too. Period correct impressed checkering. Wonder what the filled holes and the apparent open hole in the top of the receiver are about.
