Its risky business ignoring a good deal on a nice shotgun in great condition. And if you discover you shoot it well the onus is on you, (especially a soft recoiler like the 58) to hunt it.

This one is a Sportsman 58, 12 ga magnum that had a 30 inch full choke barrel. I couldn't use it on waterfoul for steel and pheasants for the full constriction. Therefore I decided to have Mike Orlen install Trulock chokes. I also asked him to finish out the total barrel length at 28 inches, including the extended PH tubes. Now I have a shotgun I can use with steel and on pheasants. Another well designed and usable shotgun saved from the closet. Back slaps all around.
Here is the result:

I really like the model 58 and had one that I shot some trap with many years ago. Great handling guns and IMO easy to maintain as they did not get as carboned up due to gas system being within the magazine tube. That looks really slick and ready for anything. Enjoy.

I hope to pattern it soon with the new chokes. I can't promise I will post the paper, but if I can I will share them here.
It threw a nice pattern with its original constriction, but as mentioned a 60 year old full choked barrel was pretty much useless for my needs.
