I own a new 870 tactical shotgun, 14.5 barrel, 12 gauge. Which companies of superior quality can transform it into a home defense and tactical shotgun with all the hardware and accessories ?

I desire to send it to them and have the work completed on their campus.

I seek people who hold a strong professional reputation and have the necessary parts readily available.

The Remington Tac 14 has an M Lock forend which makes mounting accessories very easy. All that you really need is a light. I have the Streamlight TLR-2 HL G which gives me a bright, white light as well as a green laser. Keep it simple...

What, uh, what parts do you think need added? Do you need a company to add a light for you?

There's really nothing of value to be added, other than maybe the aforementioned light which is a couple set screws.

A non-zombie home defense situation probably involves racking the slide. If it actually gets to shooting, you're engaging a bad guy or two at close range on terrain you know. You're not going to shoot enough rounds to need the extended mag tube or the heat shield for the barrel. The red dot doesn't matter at a range of 10 or 15 ft.

Maybe some of that stuff has merit for some of the competitive shooting events, but by and large the tactical accessories are just ways to separate people from their money.
