Hello All , As the owner of a V3 I have read the various threads about issues it has . and in particular the bolt cam pin (F312919). I would like one or two just for a backup. As We know all the usual places have none and last week while on the internet a place in Canada the Gravelagency.com popped up. they showed the pin in stock for just over $11.00.
I e-mailed them and they replied that they are only Canadian sales and suggested everyplace in the states that have none. I replied that Remington being closed everyone was out of stock. this was their last message :
" Hello
Remington is not dead, they are moving they should be operational in Jan or Feb 2021 , the were sold and are moving ."

Regards

Maybe someone else or in Canada can expand on this? Happy Holidays Guys.

Gravel looks like they are just an importer and distributor.

Translation of their statement, "We don't know any more than you do"

As I see it you have 3 options.

1) Find a friend in Canada and work with them regarding the purchase and shipping.

2) Sit and wait for Remington to rise from the ashes.

3) Contact a local machinist and pay for replacement parts to be fabricated.

Option 1 might be sketchy and I have absolutely no idea what the gun laws in Canada and importation into the US might be. Realistically it is a small replacement part, but I'm not a lawyer so...

Option 2 requires patience and faith. It might work out fine, or it might not.

Option 3 is probably the most expensive, but you would have the part and perhaps a spare or two in your hands.

Best of luck

Might also watch eBay. But there's no telling if or when a part will turn up.

Take the bolt apart and give the pin a good coating of heavy grease. I think that will do more to prevent it breaking than anything else, short of getting a spare. A spare means it will never break.

DanG wrote "A spare means it will never break." Yep isn't that the truth. I have an old Friend who has been a machinist for years . We may See Him next week for the Holiday and I'll run the idea by Him. never know.
