I have a 1100 competition synthetic that the link keeps falling out of the follower when disassembled and during reassembly. It’s never came out during firing. It only has 200 shells through it and I’ve tried my back up link as well. It’s assembled in the correct position as well. I’ve seen that the extended follower for the super mag was designed to keep the link in position during the firing of 3 1/2” shells. Would this part help w my problem or would it be a waste of money. Also would the longer follower mess up the geometry of the action. Thanks in advance. Joe

I would be concerned it would damage the action.

Trying to fix something that is not broke is rarely a good idea. Why have you taken it apart multiple times in 200 rounds ? Have you tried keeping the muzzle up ? I would NOT change the link, mainly because the 12 gauge SuperMag uses the same link as the standard 12. Part # F26075. When the action bar is removed there is nothing to keep the link in place.

I cleaned it when I bought it before I shot it. Then after the next two rounds of sporting clays. I never tried the muzzle up method when I reassemble it. I had a spare link in my spare parts bag so that’s where I got that. Doesn’t all the different gauges of 1100/ 11-87 take the same link and action spring? I guess sometimes it’s the simplest things. I’ll try that the next time I clean it. Thanks again for the support you’ve always came through when I asked.

Just about all of them take the same spring, but the links are different by receiver size. Just for info, I can shake my 1100 12 ga. Magnum and the link will stay put. If I do not have the gun pointed almost vertical and hiccup, the link will fall down on my standard 12.
