Perhaps someone can advise me on the 'correct' buttplate for my c1907 RAS SN: 44xxx? I have found a few earlier posts here that suggest it may be one of two: Remington/Arms Co (semi-circle) or Remington/Automatic (semi-circle). Thanks in advance.

. Welcome to SGW ! ! The correct BP for your gun is the lower pic above. Only the very early production pre-model 11's had the automatic BP logo. The subject was discussed here: https://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewto ... 5&t=403386.

Curiously, my stock measure 1-3/4" wide exactly, whereas the repro buttplates are spec'd to be 1-11/16 and 1-5/8, respectively, which makes the "Automatic" a better but not perfect fit. BTW the marks on the stock are the same as on the gun, so not sure why it is thicker than the available plates. I may need to just go with something else.
