Perhaps someone can advise me on the 'correct' buttplate for my c1907 RAS SN: 44xxx?

I have found a few earlier posts here that suggest it may be one of two: Remington/Arms Co (semi-circle) or Remington/Automatic (semi-circle).

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to SGW ! ! {hs#

The correct BP for your gun is the lower pic above.

Only the very early production pre-model 11's had the automatic BP logo.

The subject was discussed here: https://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewto ... 5&t=403386

Curiously, my stock measure 1-3/4" wide exactly, whereas the repro buttplates are spec'd to be 1-11/16 and 1-5/8, respectively, which makes the "Automatic" a better but not perfect fit. BTW the marks on the stock are the same as on the gun, so not sure why it is thicker than the available plates. I may need to just go with something else.

psparks60,

The Buttplate that is advertised as the Remington Model 11 with the semi-circular Arms Co. in the bottom banner was also used on the Remington Model 1908/RRS/Pre-Model 10 as well as the Remington Model 1900 Double.

The "Automatic" plate will work just fine and no one will be the wiser. I actually supplied the plate for the original cast.

Good Luck, Will

The "Automatic" butt plate (pn B364E) I got from N.C. Ordnance will work well on the RAS (sn 55xxx) from my Grandfather. As furnished, the plate is 1.675" wide (about 0.012 less than 1 11/16).
