My dads 1100 stopped working this past hunting season. The trigger group functions as it should when it is outside of the receiver. However, when the gun is loaded the trigger is dead and it can’t be put back into safe once the trigger is pulled. I have cleaned everything I can think of. It’s been broken all the way down but I can’t see anything different when compared to our other 1100s except that it looks like the interceptor latch retainer might be broken. There aren’t any tabs on it like a snap ring would have. Would this cause the issue?

Unless a piece of the interceptor has come loose and is interfering with something else, no.
Get someone who knows what they are looking at to have a look.

So, the interceptor was a little wobbly. When I looked closer, the part of the retainer that is still there wasn’t fully seated so I pushed it into place. When I reassembled it, the trigger assembly went in much easier than it had before. I don’t think I should fire it though.
I’m going to replace the retainer as a start.

Should I also replace the interceptor? It looks different than the other 1100s we have. Serial number starts with N and the others start with L
