I bought a 30+ year old mint condition Remy 11-87 Premier Skeet for a very good price and I have enjoyed shooting it.

But the forward weight it a tad too much and the stock far too short me. So I have temporarily added 1inch using a Beartooth soft butt pad extender and added 6oz of lead into the stock bolt hole.

What a difference, it swings better and naturally fits into my shoulder. I think the new LOP of 15 1/4 inches is right for me but I will shoot it for a while with the Beartooth pad before deciding whether to add a proper butt pad.

It now weighs about 8 1/2 pounds so quite heavy.

Tomorrow I will be doing a few round of skeet so hopefully it will be fine.

Just thought I'd add the above in case anyone is suffering a heavy front end mixed with a short stock. I'd heartily recommend the above improvements.

I have very long arms, all my shirts and jumpers need an extra 2 inches.

My B725 has 15 1/2 LOP

This makes me smile. 8 1/2 lbs isn't heavy for a skeet gun. Many, many skeeters use a gun that tops 10 lbs. One of our club members using a 14 lb gun.
All that aside, I do agree that an 1187 is a fine skeet gun. I had one once; ran 100 straight with it.
