Okay, Remington experts and afficianados, I’ve acquired something I’ve not seen before. I posted a WTB for a magazine weight which resulted in what you see here. This is a magazine weight for a Remington 1100 28 ga. The application of the weight/magazine cap is pretty straight forward. Remove old cap, insert weight and screw on new cap. However, I’m not certain what the other piece is for. It is threaded inside, and the weight diameter is too large to fit into this piece.

Wondering if anyone has seen one of these units before and, if so, what the third piece is for ?

TIA

Correct. Those kits were available for the .410, 28 ga, and 20 ga guns primarily for skeet guns to make them weigh approximately the same as the 12 ga skeet gun.

I learned something. I did not know they were available for 20 gauge.
