I have a 693 in 20g, which I love, and I'm considering adding a 12g to my safe. It will be a bit of a "do-it-all" gun...hunting as well as an occasional round of trap.

I'd planned on getting another 693, but then this new 687 Silver Pigeon III (field) caught my attention. I've seen the video that TGS did comparing the 2, but it wasn't quite an apples-to-apples comparison (693 Vittoria with amazing wood vs. the 687 SP III).

Just wondering if anyone on here has had a chance to see/shoot both side-by-side? Anyone's thoughts on this new 687 SP III?

Thanks.

Field or Sporting? Sporting SPIII's 12 gauge are discontinued except for Joel Etchen Specials.

What barrel length do you want? They are clearing out 693 26" 12 gauges on Gunbroker. Larry's Trading Post has some 28" ones listed.

Yes...I've seen those. And that's my debate...pick up a 26" 693 for $2200ish, or spend the extra $400 on this new 687 SP III.
