Hi All,

New to the forum and also a new 694 owner.

I was cleaning the preservative oil off the gun this afternoon and I noticed that there is a dark ring in the barrels where the barrels are brazed onto the monoblock. It looks like the transition between the chambers and forcing cones. I tried a phosphor brush to scrub them but nothing is coming off (but I understand that these barrels are not chrome-lined). Also, using a plastic pick I can feel a very slight seam where the barrels meet the monoblock I'm assuming and the dark area doesn't feel skating rink slick like the chambers or farther up the forcing cones. Its not very rough but I can definitely feel very slight drag like the area wasn't fine polished.

Take a brass 12g brush, some good cleaning solvent & attach it to a cordless drill.See if that removes anything. The brush on the drill shouldn’t hurt it.

I did a light cleaning of my new 687 before shooting and thoroughly cleaned it after. During the after shooting cleaning I noticed some black threads of dirt on the swabs. Not just the usual blackening of the swabs, but actual thread of dirt. No idea what I was. Kept swabbing with cleaner until it cleared. No telling what you will find in a new gun.

No flashlight. Just pointing it at the window. Picture shows the chamber and forcing cone. The black line (actually an optical illusion) is actually the area where the chamber meets the forcing cone. With oblique lighting it looks more like a zone where the polishing isn't as pristine.

I really hope its nothing as I'm probably going to the patterning plate on Tuesday. Its really amazing how well this Beretta fits me with no modification to the stock except more cast-on on the comb and adjusted drop. My other gun (Blaser F16 currently in the shop for broken wood) has a much flatter comb but more aggressive left hand cast had to have the stock cut down to 13 9/16" LOP (the maximum cut) for the gun to fit. I'm getting the same sight picture with the Beretta at 14 5/8" LOP (no cutting) but the B-FAST stock has a bit more drop at heel.

We'll see how it kicks on Tuesday.

Looks like my 682. It is where the mono block fits into the barrels. Looks normal to me.

I think it’s no bid deal. In the mfg process. Have same ring on my SV10, SO, and 694. All in the same place monoblock to barrel.

I have that same ring, no issues. I just ordered some muller choke tubes for mine, somehow I’m missing my chokes, spare ear pro, and leatherman from my range bag. Hard to imagine they fell out...I think I’ll be okay with U0-3, just hope to have them by the weekend.

Well finally shot a 40 out 50 on the sporting clay track only missed 2 first 6 stands .
I must hold gun tight to shoulder and weld check hard .
When I miss I get lazy and don’t do this like the last 6 stations .

? Adjustable comb Maybe but I don’t think so.

I took one of the 694 models off the rack this weekend. The fit was so bad for me I wouldn't even bother shooting it. Must of been the one of two stock dimensions that don't work for me. It is available with drops of 35/50 and 35/55.

I had to go with the adj. comb model & move the comb over to the right approx. 1/8" (RH shooter) My old 686 Sporting with adj. comb was about the same.

As LH shooter, I waited until a LH 694 came in to Pacific Sporting Arms in CA. I was worried the grip and especially the neck would be too fast for my not large hands.

As it turns out, not only did the grip and neck work for me, but the LH is the first I have ever been able to shoot well without modification. No adjustable comb, not even the need for an adjustable pad.

I have shot the gun a half dozen times now so well and easily, that my Zoli is going up for sale as soon as it returns from a tuneup.

The balance, feel, and quality of the 694 is fantastic.

Good luck and safe shooting.

Glad to hear that a new 694 lefty is working for you!!!! as a fellow lefty this gives me hope!!!

I have a 692 lefty and it is a great feeling to have a gun that fits but feels right, and it has the correct palm swell too even, while I had my A400 setup for me as a left it still was a right handed gun, and having that palm swell is a nice thing.

Enjoy the new 694 and let it rip!

I almost got the 692 LH. The neck of the grip was perfect for me. It was a hard decision between the 692 and the 694.

I grabbed one on the rack this weekend at the North Central regional, nice gun, sharp looking, but that palm swell is simply a little too large for me, and the stock was just a bit too wide. Maybe later in life I'd toy around with the idea of scoring one used maybe for the right price but at this time, there isn't enough there in different between my 692 to justify the move. Visually a stunning gun and a head turner. I'm actually shocked to be honest I didn't see a single one on the course, I figured I would at some point, never did.

It'll take time for Beretta to get the 694 out in numbers. Starting with the SV10s and most of the 69x series they have shot themselves in the foot several times over - to the the great advantage of CG in particular and also Browning.
