I've witnessed way to many broken Z-guns at tournaments, and no one can fix them at a shoot. But I live in the North West, maybe it is different elsewhere. Beretta's durability record is well established.

I live in the northwest too ( outside Portland). Find it hard to believe about all the broken z guns.

Firing pin. Oregon state tournament. Shooter was from California. He finished the day with my lh Perazzi. Another one broke at the du shoot in Vegas. Saw him in the lobby with the gunsmith trying to get it repaired. Out of luck.

Yea, atleast his barrel didn't separate like perrazis are notorious for.

Everyone should sell their perrazis.......

Anecdotal event is just that. Everything mechanical can fail. Zoli like berettas, are very reliable and well built shotguns.

I've never seen any Z gun go down, doesn't mean that it hasn't happened though.

however I have also seen guys with P guns get good at replacing trigger springs

Good thing zoli has drop out trigger groups that take about 20 seconds to swap. Only downside is $. Reg set is $1250 and ti nitride coated set is $1600.

A few guys I know with P guns have a spare trigger group, and they are efficient at replacing the springs if and or when they fail.

Also seems to be the trend with the DT10/11's guys will have spare trigger groups laying around.

Anyone know what the difference is between the sporting version and trap version? Also any pictures out there of the trap version, will it have an adjustable stock?

Also what is beretta's warranty service like ? I hear about problems on the browning side? Is beretta better?

Second this. Avoid Beretta, deal directly with Coles.

Can anyone that has made the plunge and bought the 694 let us know their early impressions?

I will be stopping into Cole's in Harpswell the week after next to view and handle one there and see if it suits me. If it does, I am very likely going to give it a go.

I had the opportunity to get to the Cole’s location in harpswell Maine this morning. They had two 694’s on the rack.

One was a left hand model in 30 inch. I did not bother to pick it up since I am a righty. I wanted to just mention it as there are a number of left handed shooters that post here and I think there were questions on the 694 and would it be offered early on set up lefty

The other one on the rack was a right handed version in 32 inch with weight noted at 8 pounds and 7 ounces. Wood was attractive with a nice darker tone and decent figure. As has been described in some of the technical reviews, the feel of the handgrip and ergonomics when gun is mounted are pretty pleasing. I am just about 6 feet tall with average arm length and the lop felt spot on for me.

The gun feels extremely lively and smart in the hands. For several years I have envisioned my next O/U purchase to be a CG and as Cole’s is also a CG I shouldered a Summit in 32 inch and 8 pounds and 2 ounces and at least for me today there was no comparison of those two guns at very similar price point. The 694 was better balanced and more dynamic

One of their gunsmiths chatted with me and was extremely excited about the gun and the things Beretta has done to address issues in the 690 platform with this edition

I went today with no intention to buy today and I held myself to that. After the visit, I think it is very likely that by the end of the week I will be in process to own one.

I haven’t made the purchase yet. Getting through the holidays first

Hopefully will finalize in early January. Will post an update when I have done the deed.
