Thinking of buying one for SC and hunting. Currently have a Citori CX. Anyone know if it is any lighter and livelier than the Citori CX. I need something that is faster and can be corrected mid-swing unlike the Citori tank.

My new SP1 Sporting with the 30" Optima HP choked barrels is what I call light and lively. It is certainly lighter up front and overall lighter than the 12 gauge Citoris I have held. But it has been a while and I have never held a CX. My SP1 weighs about 7lbs 12 oz. I like it with the flush chokes. The stock fit is a little different than the Browning. I think the Beretta has a bit more drop. I tried a field stock on my Sporting and did not like that change much. A pair of extended choke tubes add 1 oz to the Beretta over the flush tubes.

I owned a 686 SP1 with 30" Optima HP barrels and can tell you that it was quite bit livelier than my present 30" Citori CXS. I prefer the CXS for clays, but the SP1 would have been the better field gun, IMO. That said, the stocks are indeed different. The CXS fits me well, the SP1 did not.
