I noticed on the Beretta website that they're showing both current year and 2019 versions of the SP1. Anyone know what the differences are, if any?

Barrels are now Steelium Optima HP and have longer forcing comes but that only applies to the 12ga and 20ga models, the 28ga and .410 still have the older barrels with Mobil chokes. The engraving and checkering is now all done by laser and the scroll work not only looks different (which I kind of prefer over the older guns) but it is much shallower in depth (looks slightly cheaper). I have an older 20ga and the newer 2020 28ga and I like things about both. At the end of the day there isn't much difference and I wouldn't spend more to get the 2020 gun if you can get a better deal on the 2019 as they are still the same gun for the most part.

A large beretta dealer told me they found a cheaper way to mount the rib - that’s the only material difference.

The Beretta website is very confusing. I expect that the 2019 is the latest edition and the one that is just listed as a SP1 is the model before that. I have one of the 2019's. Has the Optima HP chokes and the very long forcing cones and the open rib between the barrels. I love the barrels and metal work. The stock has some sort of laser pattern instead of cut checkering. Feels very sharp and gives a good grip. Looks crappy when inspected up close. I put another stock and forend on the gun since I needed an adjustable comb anyway.

If I recall the 68X and 69X and the DT's all have different lengths of elongated forcing cones with the'11 having the longest.

I agree in regards to the new laser cut checkering. It's more effective in terms of grip but up close it looks horrible, especially when compared to the older hand cut stocks from Beretta that I have on older guns.
