I've got a variety of red dot sights but none of them are narrow enough to fit the rib on the turkey model of the Mossberg 500 in .410 bore. I would prefer to use my Burris Fast Fire 3. Any adapter recommendations?

I don’t know if it would fit, but Burris makes an adapter for the FF3 on some semi-automatics and pumps that is placed like a shim between the stock and receiver. It is called the Speed Bead. You might look into that.

Another possibility is to have the rib drilled and tapped for two screws. Then have a pistol mounting plate similarly drilled and mount it to the rib. The FF3 just attaches to the pistol mounting plate. You might want to have a channel cut down the center of the underneath of the mounting plate lengthwise to firm up the mount without any slop. Keep in mind that the red dot will be high with that type mount and you will need a cheek riser or adjustable comb to raise your eye and center it in the viewing pane.

Sorry, that’s all I got.

I would like to find something similar to the Aimpoint Micro S1 adapter plates without spending $700 on a $400 gun.

Has anyone tried the Aimtech rib rider base?
