Hello all, first time poster and new here from MI, does anyone know the twist rate and inside bore diameter of the Mossberg 695? My particular gun loves to shoot the expensive slugs so I would like to attempt to load my own.

Welcome to ShotgunWorld, Knottsfamilyranch. The twist rate of the Mossberg 695 is 1 in 36", and it is a 12 gauge so the diameter of the bore would be about 0.73". How do you intend to make your own saboted slugs, sir?

Mossberg 695 Bolt Action Shotgun -- fully rifled, ported 22" barrel features a Parkerized metal finish, synthetic stock and detachable magazine.

To get rifle-like accuracy, you can't take a shotgun approach.

The leader in high-performance slug shooting, Mossberg® has delivered more technological improvements to hunters than any other. The 695® is the ultimate example of that leadership, with features such as a fully-rifled ported barrel, a rock-solid rifle-type bolt action, and a classic-style synthetic rifle stock.

A Perfect match for today's high performance slugs

In this game, a few extra yards adds up to points. That's why every component in the Mossberg 695 Bolt Action was designed for a specific purpose - tight groups and repeat-shot slug accuracy.

The 695 takes the trend-setting Mossberg fully-rifled barrel, attaches it to a rigid, time-tested bolt action, and beds it in a strong weatherproof synthetic stock - a combination destined to deliver years of reliable service under the toughest hunting conditions.

The 22" parkerized barrel features a 1 in 36" twist, a perfect match for use with today's lightning fast, high performance sabot slugs.

To further enhance the 695's accuracy potential, all barrels are factory ported to help reduce felt recoil and muzzle jump for quick second shot recovery. A detachable box magazine ensures fast reloading and easy unloading and factory installed swivel studs allow the addition of a sling for convenient shouldering.

Designed for maximum accuracy

Choose from standard adjustable rifle sights or for ultra-fast target acquisition in extreme low light conditions, select Fiber Optic sights. Using only natural light, these high visibility sights have to be seen to be believed. In addition, all 695 receivers are drilled and tapped for scope mounting, and include Weaver #55 scope bases for quick optics attachment.

The Model 695 has a total capacity of three shots; two in the magazine, one in the chamber. It is designed for 12 gauge, 2 3/4" and 3" sabot style slugs. “Rifled” slugs and shot shells are not recommended for use in rifled barrels
