Surprised to see that Mossberg does the 12, 20 and .410 in their model 500, but not the 28 Gauge. A limited run of 28 and why not.........do some 16. Both can be done on 20 gauge frames.

IIRC, Mossbergs always had gauge specific frame. I own a 28 gauge Wingmaster, but I'd sure like to see Mossberg make a 28. I think that would be cool. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.

The slickest 28 gauge pump, in my opinion, is the Browning model 12.

I just bought a Mossberg SA-28, 28 gauge semi-auto! Lovely little gun, haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Comes in a nice hard plastic breakdown case. 5 choke tubes (mobilchoke) BUT it doesn't come with the choke tube wrench! There is a spot molded in the case about the shape that would hold a Beretta wrench, but I can't find that in 28 gauge. I can find a 20 gauge wrench in that shape, but not the 28 gauge. Any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! Jeff

JJP, sorry did not read your entire post. The key like wrench is supposed to be an universal wrench for all gauges. Mine took forever to change chokes so I bought a Briley speed wrench. Hope this helps.

It is definitely the most generic wrench I've ever seen, but it will work. Thanks! Yeah definitely Go Buckeyes! Jeff

And if I was going to shoot sporting clays and need to change chokes during the round, I would definitely need a speed wrench. I'll probably be using it only for skeet & maybe a little bird hunting so it shouldn't be an issue.
