Ithica Guns wants $15 plus $27.00 Shipping. That is robbery! For a sight that weighs less than 1/10 of an ounce. I think I will be forced to go to the Truglo aftermarket from Brownells. I was hoping to keep it original. It is a 40 year old gun that I purchased new as a kid! Thanks for your fast replies.

Hi Ithacanut, I'm in need of a raybar front sight for my SKB 280. The broken one I removed was the 2 banded type. I'm not on this sight very often, but my email is [email protected] if we can make a connection that way. I did see an address from a couple years ago. Walter Snyder, 225 South Valley Road, Southern Pines, NC 28387. If this address is still good, I will send a check for one, if that's acceptable. Thank you, Jim King

Hello Ithacanut, I have sent you a PM requesting info on a raybar sight for my newly acquired 16 gauge model 37. I appreciate your time and response. I am a product of upstate NY myself. I grew up in Elmira NY, and hunted all around Ithaca and Seneca lake during the early 70's to the early 80's. Never hunted deer while living in NY, without using a Deerslayer. Now a resident of New Hampshire.
Regards, Joe

Installed one of the sights I recently purchased this afternoon. Cut the post down by hand until it is flush with the inside of the barrel, one to two strokes at a time. Loc-tited it in place and it should be good to go by tomorrow.

I had a 20 ga. Sid Bell 37 with no front bead. I could not find a Raybar, but I found a new Williams bead on Ebay that was darned close. Had the orange element but in a brass fitting at one end. You would have to look close to see the difference, shooting, no difference.

Hi ITHACANUT. I'm brand new to the sight so please bear with me. I have two model 37's, one from 1940 and one from 1949. Both are terrific and I'm very pleased to have them. The 1940 one has been retrofitted with a Raybar sight and I would like to fit the 1949 model with one as well. Saw some previous postings that indicate you may have some and are willing to sell. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to purchase one or two of them if you are willing. The 1949 model has a bead sight now. Does anyone know if the mounting hole is tapped for 6-48 threads? If not, would I have to re-drill and tap the hole to this size? Thanks.
