Thanks to Ithacaskbfan I have another rescue 37 sixteen gauge on the way. This one is a prewar R with a polychoke,26" barrel. And so it begins all over again. :D

Earnest Hemingway once said: "One cat just naturally leads to another..." I think it may be the same with M37's..

I’m down to three right now, which for me is practically devoid of any. I’ll stay that way unless I find a 3” mag 12 at a ridiculous low price. Or a great deal on almost any.

Sounds like one you'd be hard pressed to pass up: a pre-War, and a sub-gauge, AND a solid rib. How could you say no?

Ithacaskbfan is indeed a great enabler of Ithaca purchases. Many on this board, including me, have benefited many times from his generosity--with his knowledge of Ithacas (especially Model 51s) and his sharing of hard-to-find parts and resources from his stash. Glad to hear you, too, have enjoyed his generosity and it has resulted in another scarce Ithaca finding a good home.

Post some pics when you get it.

Thanks for the kind words Steve. When I see M 37's on auction sites at bargain prices that need TLC, I immediately think of Mike. He makes the proverbial silk purse from a sow's ear.
Mike, send me the pictures when you get this one cleaned and tuned and I will post them for you.
