Hello friends: Couple of nice Ithacas on this month's Gunrunner auction:

Lot #105 is an Ithaca Sandusky M37 in 20 ga. 28" VR barrel. Gun is in new condition, in the box. Label indicates "Women Stock" but dimensions are the same - 14 1/4" LOP. Maybe they're taller in Upper Sandusky...Anyway, beautiful new production and nice find, considering that nothing is yet available from Ithaca.

Lot #196 is really nice Minier-era 10 ga. 1 1/2 Grade. Damascus bores are clean and shiny, entire gun is very straight with just a small sliver of wood missing from forearm edge. Gun is tight and locks work fine. Heavy beast! Great old water fowl or turkey gun.

Stay well, everybody!

The woman's stock was made to match the cheek weld for a woman's smaller face . I think the comb was narrower .

The women’s stock has a cast off.

Ian - from what I can see, there no cast off in the stock. Checking Ithaca's website, they list the Women's stock with these dimensions: 14 1/4 LOP, 1 1/4 DAC, 2 1/4 DAH. In other words, about identical to a standard stock. I would expect a dedicated "women's stock" to have a LOP around 13", but I guess they see it differently...

10 years ago my wife and I bought a pair in 20 gauge straight from the factory. Here’s was the lady model. We where told that’s the difference. Women have wider shoulders because of a wider pelvis. (Child birth type stuff) When I compare her gun to mine I can see the difference for sure. If specs. have changed since then I can’t say but that was the difference in June of 2010.
