Yes—at the very end of production, they eliminated the line work on all the action edges and, when compared with prewar guns, gives them an unfinished appearance. I have some unfinished ICD small bore stocks that could be used to refurbish this 410!

Are the sub guages built on gauge specific frames? Just curious.

The basic box part of the NID frame is the same size from the .410-bore to the Super-10. The height and width of the standing breech and the firing pin spacing changes. Then there are also the even higher standing breech portions for the vent ribbed guns.
The .410-bore and the 28-gauge frames are the same size. That leave a lot of metal in the breech ends of the .410-bore barrels and makes the .410-bores very "weight between the hands" and with the tiny barrels out front very muzzle light.
