Does anyone know what the original Deer Slayer first model is called. Is it the model 37 and how much is it worth?

Welcome to SGW ! ! {hs#

The 1959 model intro was called the Model 37 Deerslayer (one word).

The current BBGV values them at:

$150 in 60% original issue condition
$165 in 70% condition
$170 in 80% condition
$180 in 90% condition
$195 in 95% condition
$240 in 98% condition
$300 in 100% condition

The best way to determine the true value of one would be to surf guns-only auction sites for the same model in the same condition that has actually been sold recently.

Unsold gun dollar amounts are not values - they are what a seller would like to obtain.

Merry Christmas !

In the current market the short 20 inch barreled Deerslayer shotguns are bringing higher bids because of them essentially being a M & P with rifle sights, although the Deerslayer barrels have a specific boring for slugs.

As with most makers the older a model is the higher the asking or selling price.

I acquired an early Deerslayer barrel and it is a bit nicer then later barrels. The early Deerslayer Model 37 with most certainly bring a premium over the later versions.
