I just found a hairline crack on the rear lug of my 1924 Ithaca Loues. . It is very hard to see with nacked eye. This lug has an insert in it. Is this factory or a repair? What is the best recourse? Thanks for some help shriker

Shriker, Welcome.
Pictures showing the crack would be most helpful. A picture hosting site must be used to post them here. Once you have the link from the host site click the Img box above to upload the picture to this post.

It isn't cracked-just a future failure of the lug to the barrels solder joint.. I strongly suggest not shooting it until it can be re-soldered. Ask me how I know? Last repair I had was $150/200.

There was no 'insert' in factory lugs. Must be a repair?? :?

that is the place that I used to weld up the Ithaca 37 that I rescued. They do good work.
