I ordered two of these magazine endcaps for an 870; one for a Christmas present and one for me. I thought it was neat that the anodizing matched my DSII storm's parkerizing perfectly, so I tried it...

I think it looks good on a gun used exclusively for hunting. More importantly though is that an 870 magazine end cap will fit the DSII's and probably the DSIII's as well.

Patriot,

Your Western Arms ser# 51679 should be a 1939 mfg if the following tables are correct. It will have 2-3/4" chambers and is safe with modern shells but the wood deserves light recoil loads. You have a very fine, well kept example.

I thought it would need a lot of work to look good but I was pleasantly surprised.

Here's my latest build. Ithaca 37 field grade, chopped the barrel back and sleeved it for screw in win chokes, finished barre length is 18.5". Installed Remington 700 sights (which will later get trijicon tritium inserts). GunKoted the whole thing in matte black and added a choate side folder. My first time using gun kote. Temperamental stuff, guess it was too humid here but it still turned out pretty nice I think. Next build I'll try Duracoat.

These are my first Ithacas. I bought the 37 Defense directly from Ithaca. The guys at the Ithaca custom gun shop added the ATI foreend and the fiber optic sights. The second shotgun I bought from an auction sight, unfired. It came with a pistol grip and synthetic fore end. Zac at Ithaca, picked out the grade "A" wood for me and installed it. They also function checked it and test fired both gun. I picked them up yesterday and I am very pleased with them.

Just checking to see if you were paying attention. Yes, the second picture is not a picture of an Ithaca. I posted the picture of the Winchester 1300 by accident, but I like how it looks, so I left it in.
