looking at purchasing a nice model 42. serial number indicates 1959. I noticed when dry firing or live firing i have to actually push forward on the forearm before i can pull it back to eject spent round. Is this something that can be fixed or is there something major wrong here?
thanks in advance
laudy

Perfectly normal. When you fire the gun, recoil does the push forward of the forearm for you

Inertial slide lock purpose was to prevent an OOB detonation in the event of hangfire. Relic from black powder days.

IME, slide locks on 42s tend not to hold up over time as well as on M-12s. So you may be looking at a lightly used example.
