Jordon,

The competition guns came from the factory with chrome plated mag tubes. They were also installed with blue Locktite. If yours is not Locktited it might have been replaced or reversed at one time. I recommend that you Locktite it.
If it is a stainless tube they have a satin sheen rather than the bright chrome. A magnet will confirm what you have.
The Winchester sights are 3/56 threads. The mid bead should be available but usually need a pin vise to install them.
On my SX-1 guns I wipe a very thin film of CLP on all the gas parts before shooting and that makes clean up much easier.

Thanks for the info.

I'll loctite mine in with the blue lock tite when I get home.

I'll look around for a mid bead. I know there are a lot of options out there.
This is a little off topic of Super X 1's, but what is everyone's favorite bore scrubber? Something I can use on the mag tube and in the barrel?
Food for thought... you might find something here by diyguy, perhaps something that's less chemically harmful to the human body is the better way to go.

I remember DIYGUY's post, they were always very informative.

Wonder what ever happened to him? I see he hasn't posted in a while....

Shot the Super X 1 again this weekend. I get compliments on it every time I take it out.

Still hitting clays with the IM barrel. I get to try it at 100 rounds of sporting clays on Friday at a Charity shoot my wife is sponsoring through here work.

That will be the true test and the first time I'll have ever done a whole round of sporting clays.

Thanks to this forum, I've got an IC barrel on the way.

Between the IC and IM barrel, I think I'll be covered on any game I would want to play.

Still love the gun, shot sporting clays last night, between the weight, gas actions of the SX1, and the light target loads in Winchester Super Target or AA's ( 1 & 1/8 oz at 1145 fps) I have no shoulder fatigue, I can barely tell I have shot any. That is a lot different than my model 12's!

One question, what is everyone using for a good gun case for their SX1 and going to the range?

Jordan,

I use a Briley gun slip because there is no zipper involved that can mar the wood or metal.
