Hello All,

Do any of you know anything about who made this safety for the Model 12 Shotgun?

Image

It came on my 1937 Skeet Model 12- and I see one that I think is the same on a model 12 16g on gun broker right now. However, I see many more of the larger half moon Winchester/Williams Safeties, as well as more of the turning lever safeties.

Anyone have any idea who made them?

112 viewers so far, and no thoughts? Cool! I am stumping the collective! :)

Seriously though- does anyone have any insight?

I had read that Simmons made some safeties, but I have no idea what they look like.
I mainly know the half-circle Williams ones, and the turn lever ones I've seen.

Don't Know what it is that you have there. Here are a couple of aftermarket safeties from the 19666 Simmons catalog --

Probably custom made by a gunsmith.

Yep- those are the two I am familiar with. Although the Williams is more of a half circle than the image. I haven't seen the toggle/rotating one in person- but have seen it on guns for sale online, or as a part elsewhere.

Could be. I am curious what they used and cut it down to fit. The ridges seem like it could have been something larger that was trimmed- but it doesn't match a Williams texture pattern, I think.
