The new 101s that are not the BPS model. What is the finish on the stock like? Is it like the browning finish? I currently have a cx but I don’t like the finish on it since when it gets scratched it gets pretty ugly and hard to fix.

I am a little slow here. What is a BPS model 101? I cannot answer your question but am curious as to the question.

BPS = Bass Pro Shops. They offer an Ultimate Field 101 and an Ultimate Sporting 101 that are a little different from the standard Winchester 101s. The stocks have a slightly different and more pleasing, IMO, shape and an oil-type finish versus the shiny Browning type finish.

That same acronym means “Browning pump shotgun” to me. I was scratching my head on its use above.
