 Post subject: Model 12 firing pin length

Had a firing pin decide to separate into three pieces. "No problem", sez I and ordered a replacement from Fleabay.

So why is this one 1/4" too short (and unusable)?


ETA: Found the answer while noodling in the gunsmithing area. The 12 gauge is 2 7/8" long, all other bores are 2 5/8"s. ... 0#p4475450
