I just acquired a nice Super X in very good condition. Shot the gun today for the first time. The gun functioned flawlessly. However, the trigger pull seemed excessive. Granted, I am also a pistol shooter and I squeeze the trigger rather than slam it. Also, I had been shooting my K80 so the trigger pull was quite different. I don’t have a trigger pull gauge so I can’t state the actual trigger pull in lb’s.

The trigger is a stage one (serrated/grooved) which I believe is adjustable for weight of pull ? If so, any tutorials available on the procedure. My Google search didn’t come up with anything. What should I expect to attain where the trigger remains safe to fire. Is 3-5 lbs too much to expect ? I’ve ordered a trigger pull gauge from Amazon (they have everything) so I’ll know what the actual pull weight is in a couple of days.

The adjustment screw on the stage 1 is for travel (creep) not pull weight, shorter travel might feel like less pull weight before the trigger releases. I wouldn't mess with the adjustment screw, the wrong setting could lead to trigger not resetting and other issues. If you do adjust trigger make sure you use lock tight on the screw. Check your hammer spring, if its the older dual spring replace it with the newer single spring.

My stage 1 trigger (single hammer string) is 5 lbs and ok in my book, I also have a stage 3 trigger reworked by Nuline that's at 4 lbs and feels nice but its not K80 nice.

Yes. The adjustment on the stage one is for creep. I adjusted mine to take out most of the creep. If you want a lighter trigger then I would suggest a gunsmith do it. You might contact Nu Line guns about the issue

Casonet is right. For a lighter pull send it to Nu-Line Guns. Years ago Jerry, the owner, made a jig to do my first trigger so that he can get the sear engagement correct for a lighter pull but not have any issue fan firing.
My triggers are set at 3 3/4lbs and are stage III and the creep can be removed from them also.

I’ve contacted Nu-Line. They are weeks + behind on gunsmithing work. I’ve ordered a trigger pull gauge and plan to measure the trigger pull to see if it’s my imagination or not. If not my imagination, I see if I can find a local smith.

Be aware that Nu-Line is always busy.
This is common with quality services.

Any updates on your trigger pull or your thoughts on a fix ?

None yet. I haven’t called Nuline. A friend of mine called them recently and was told they are behind by at least sixty days or more.
