I would like to remove the magazine tube from my Super 90 Montefeltro to swap out the follower with a metal one. The magazine tube is obviously Loctited into the receiver.

I need to heat the receiver to loosen the Loctite. Is the receiver easy to damage or discolor if I over heat it? I have tried using a small butane torch but couldn't get it hot enough. Is MAPP gas too much?

Thanks for your suggestions!

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try that first. Don't know why I didn't think of that. Getting old I guess!

Don't heat the receiver, heat the magazine tube instead. Place the gun in a vise with the receiver up and the magazine tube pointing at the ground. Heat the tube near the receiver making sure you keep the torch moving. Mapp gas burns much hotter than propane so be careful. Use a strap wrench to turn the tube out. Put the wrench at the very end where it is reinforced by the magazine plug/cap.
