If you still have your M1 can you see if the M2 barrel fits the M1 receiver? Maybe you already tried?

I tried, but it does not fit. The barrel on the m2 is different, it has a chunk of metal sticking of it. I also noticed the reciever is a touch longer on the m2. One of the nice things about the m2 is in my opinion it balances nicer with the 28 inch barrel.
