Curly, forgive me but I can't seem to get a photo to post. I have followed your instructions as well as possible. the failure occurs when I try the following instruction.

"Open another window on your computer and go to your IMGUR account and sign in.
Click on that photo that you want in your message so that your photo is the only one on your screen.
If your pic does not look like the one below, click on your picture and it should be fine then.
Here is an example. you will notice that I have colored yellow the Description BBCODE that has a link below it."

when I click on the screen, it just shrinks the screen back down to 1/4 size.

The closest I can come to getting the picture is ;

https://imgur.com/a/zV6HYNf

And this wont open for me. or am I missing some cammand? I can't seem to get to a
BBCODE .

If that does not show up, then you are probably logged out.
Here is your photo.
Image

If you are logged in and cannot get the links box on the right, click in the middle of the picture right click on the picture and get the image url copy that and paste it between the IMG tags after you go to the message that you are composing and hit the IMG button in the full editor then just paste the link between the img tags.
Getting the image url is different depending on the browser. You can pm your phone # to me and we can talk.

Curly,

I am still having problems bringing the image from jpg box.com to the forum using my MacBook Air. I copy the picture and paste it, however it comes across with a ? mark rather than the picture after I try to post the picture. Any help would be appreciated.

The picture below is the one that I edited into your listing

Nope I cannot make your images work.
I cannot tell you how to make what you want to do work.
If you want to be hardheaded go ahead, but the IMgur. com method works.
Why do you think I suggest it?
Why do you think that I went to the trouble to illustrate how to do it?
What is wrong with their fee of free?
Read my questions and tell me a valid and logical reason to not use imgur?
When people can't get their images to work, I have to save their image to my desktop.
Then I have to load that image to my personal Imgur.com account.
Then I use that link to post someone elses photo because of some several reasons.
Most of those reasons, if delineated, would cause hurt feelings.
Let's leave it at that.

What are you referring to?

Curly,

I use the jpg box.com for all my picture posting, have loaded lots of pictures into it. Really do not want to use an additional host. It works on every other forum, why not this one? Maybe the forum needs up grading to allow this to happen. I thought there might be an additional step needed to use the jpg box.com, unfortunately its the format here that is keeping the Img pictures from posting off the jpg sight directly.

I fully understand why you took the time to explain your method of using the different host, if I wanted to use that host, I would not have ask the question in the 1st place. A simple answer of I do not know a way to make it work, would have sufficed.

These issues have been discussed here over and over and over again. There isn’t going to be an upgrade so we’ve been told. So you either do it the way the rest of us do it or not at all. It’s that simple.

painter,

No it does not, it comes across as a posted ? mark which then has to be clicked on to view the image. I am using it in this way, I would like the image to be posted right on the forum without the use of the ? mark. It seems an upgraded is needed and it is not going to be done. So I will continue to post pictures with the ? Mark.

Dave...when I initially posted, the pic was there. I refreshed the page, and it was gone with just the icon showing.

I can post pics here from both flickr, and google, although google is more work. I don't think it's a SGW issue.

You could post the direct link to the page... http://www.jpgbox.com/page/56479/

Does that work for you if you click it?

Noted.

Does the page link work for you Curly? I think that site doesn't allow hotlinks.

There are better hosts.

painter,

You are probably correct however it's the host I use for the different forums where I am a member, and it works perfectly for all but this particular sight. Just seems to be some kind of technical mismatch.
