Hi folks, I have a Dickinson 12 gauge tactical pump with 18.5 barrel and ghost ring sights. The front post is a fixed height, attached to the barrel with a small Allen screw. The rear ghost ring elevation adjustment screw also holds it to the pic rail. I have it raised to its highest point without the screw falling out, yet my POI is still below my POA. Options or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you can't move the rear sight up any further, change the front sight to a lower one, or take a file to the existing front sight.

POI and POA don't line up at what distance and with what kind of load? POI varies greatly for me with different loads and different guns. My 500 patterns way high above POA with the bead so I put a red dot on it and barely had to shoot at all to zero it. It was perfect out of the box in actual fire but the laser bore sight would tell me it was too high. Well, the same load through with the same red dot, set up pre-range trip to a similar POI as the 500 shot way low. I ended up trading that 590 for an 870 with XS ghost rings that sit lower than a red dot on a rail would and it shoots to POA perfectly. For reference, my current loads for shotgun patterning and red dot zero are federal top gun target, remington 9 pellet 00 buckshot, and aguila mini slugs (500 only) all fired between 7 and 10 yards.

I would suggest trying different types of ammunition or putting a red dot on the rail for more flexibility if a change of ammo either doesn't help or isn't an option. We don't exactly have our pick of 100 different types of defensive shells right now with the covid 19 panic like we did a few months ago ...

Is this a dedicated slug gun?
