I bought the Citadel Warthog for my son hoping it would be decent enough for him as a first shotgun.
I personally have an M4, but he didn't have the budget for that (nor could I find one anyhow).
I have been pleasantly surprised by it, especially for an under $300 semi-auto. With over 200 rounds thru it so far, there has been zero issues. Even works with the low recoil shells.
The capacity sucked (4+1) until I found that the Carleson Magazine Extension tube for the Super Nova ($60) fit like a glove, increasing capacity to a more respectable 7+1 using 2-3/4 shells. Also it came with 5 chokes.
It is chambered for 3-inch, but we've only put 2-3/4 #00 through it from various manufacturers - cheap to $$$ and it cycles every single time.
If it does break, it has a 7 year warranty, repair is based in Reno NV. The manual sucks though.
I'd have absolutely no problem using this for a home defense weapon
Just my 2 cents
