Does anyone know of a source for the nylon barrel button toe rest?

The gentleman who used to make these passed away several years ago and I'm having trouble finding any for sale.

Please reply or send a PM if you have any information.

Thanks!

I don't think anyone picked them up after Ira died.

The only slightly complicated part is the button itself, need someone with a lathe to turn a piece of nylon or delrin. Other than that it's just a piece of nylon strap, a strip of plastic, both sides of a snap, and a screw.

Looks like the one Ira gave me about 10 years is getting a little chewed up, guess I'll have to start putting the pieces together to make a replacement for myself. I could probably make them for sale but I don't think I could make enough off of them to make it worth the effort to be honest.

I made the button on mine.

Go to hardware store and buy nylon screw, washers and a nut. I used a leather punch the diameter of the threaded part through my leather toe protector. I pushed the screw from the bottom and marked the head size. It trimmed the outer layer to the size of the head. This ,works as long as your toe pad is 2 piece.

Insert the screw, add washers on the top side then a nut. The length of the screw will determine if you need to cut it off. 28 ga and larger will sit over the nut. 410 sits on the screw itself.

I can’t post pictures but I can pm them if anyone is interested.

I have been using the Bob Allen style for years. Very pleased with it.

I already checked that site.

$12 for one, not a bad price considering no one else makes them.

However, they want $15 to ship! No thanks!

It can fit in a small envelope and mail first class for less then a dollar!
